Need a New Name?
Since this is such a cool looking car, Acura should absolutely make it (which they are), but they should rename it.
In person, it does have some subtle similarities to the original NSX. Somehow the nose resembles the original and the hood angles look similar to the original.
Looking back to the original NSX, Honda/Acura commissioned Pininfarina to develop their new car which was to be called the HP-X which stood for Honda Pininfarina eXperimental. The car would be evolved further by Honda and eventually adopted the name NSX, meaning New Sports(car) eXperimental.
Here’s a suggestion Acura, if you’re listening, rename the NSX. Rename it HSX. The “H” can stand for Honda or even more fitting, “hybrid” because that is what it will be.

Something I’ve been partial to so far, the new NSX. It’s certainly bold and looks great, but I’m not sure if it should be called an NSX… It represents nothing the previous NSX’s were about aside from being a mid-mounted V6 supercar. Looks too heavy and gawdy to me to hold the NSX name.
We’ll see, maybe seeing it in person will change my mind?
